PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
February 19, 2013
EVENDALE MUNICIPAL BUILDING
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Evendale Planning Commission (EPC) was called to order by EPC Chairman (Council Representative) Doug Lohmeier at 6:30 PM on February 19, 2013. Attending were EPC members Chris Patterson and Rob Adams. Supporting the EPC were Jack Cameron (Assistant to the Mayor), James Jeffers (Village Engineer), Pam Morin (Building Department Clerk), James Dobrozsi (Architectural Review Board Member), and Ralph Terbrueggen (Landscape Architect).
Old Business:
1. Pool and Spa Warehouse, 10731 Reading Road
Mark Hicks, owner of the Pool and Spa Warehouse, spoke again on his application for a conditional use permit to use the front of the property for the outside storage of spa and pool units. Mr. Hicks presented a completed plan for the east side of the site. It calls for the use of brick columns, gating, planters and landscaping to enclose an area of approximately 20'x50'. The conversation centered around the parking stalls on the north end of the site. Because the single stalls will align to the east side of the property closest to Reading Road there was concern that there be enough room to place a full 22' roadway between the edge of the expansion and the edge of the parking stalls. This was for both ease of access and safety.
A motion was made and seconded to approve the conditional use permit with the condition that the width of the drive between the expansion and the western edge of the parking stalls be at least 22'. The motion passed 3-0.
2. The minutes for the November 2012 meeting of the EPC were reviewed. A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes without changes. The motion passed 3-0. The minutes for the January 2013 EPC meeting were then reviewed. A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes without changes. The motion passed 3-0.
Adjournment:
On a motion made and seconded, the meeting was adjourned at 7:00pm on a 3-0 vote.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at 6:00 PM.
